Patchwork Advantage exists to answer one core question: what did the update change in the match, and what decision followed from it?

1. Evidence before interpretation

We start with visible game changes, match patterns, and source-backed observations. Interpretation comes after the facts are laid out. If a conclusion cannot be tied to a patch effect, draft shift, or repeated in-game choice, it does not belong on the page.

2. Decision-first writing

Every page should help a reader decide something. Is the new option strong enough to matter? Did the change affect tempo? Should a team preserve a comfort pick or move away from it? We write toward those decisions, not toward vague commentary.

3. Clear limits

We do not pretend that every update creates a major meta shift. Some patches are quiet. Some changes matter only in specific maps, modes, or roles. Saying “it depends” is useful only when the dependency is named clearly.

  • Do not overstate small samples.
  • Do not turn one result into a rule.
  • Do not hide uncertainty behind confident language.

4. Accessible technical language

The site uses technical terms when they help the reader make sense of the update. It avoids jargon when a plain sentence is enough. The goal is not to sound complex. The goal is to make the competitive decision visible.

5. Source-led, not source-drowned

Sources matter, but a long list of links is not the point. We use sources to support a reading of the patch, not to bury the reader in noise. The best evidence is the kind that changes the conclusion.

6. Consistency under pressure

When a game changes fast, analysis can drift into reaction. This publication keeps a steady rule: if the update changes the safest play, the page should say so directly. If it does not, the page should say that too.

Editorial rule: no claim without a visible decision effect.
